Equipment grounding ensures that operating equipment within a structure is grounded properly.\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp class=\u0022text-align-justify\u0022\u003EThese two grounding systems must be kept separate except for connections between the two systems. This prevents differences in voltage potential from a possible flashover from lightning strikes.\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003EThe purpose of a ground is to provide a safe path for the dissipation of fault currents, lightning strikes, static discharges, and electromagnetic interference (EMI).\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EWhat affects the grounding resistance?\u003C/strong\u003E\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp class=\u0022text-align-justify\u0022\u003EWhen installing grounding systems, focus on ways to reduce the ground resistance. Here are ways to effectively lower ground resistance:\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E1. Driving ground electrodes deeper\u003C/strong\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003E\nThe resistance level can generally be reduced by an additional 40% by doubling the length of the ground electrode.\u003C/p\u003E\n\u003Cp class=\u0022text-align-justify\u0022\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E2.
